In June, 19 working days and 11 days off are expected

MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. In June, Russians will work 19 days and rest 11 days; due to the large number of days off, this month is not favorable for vacations. This was reported to TASS by Anna Osmak, head of the key client department at Avito Work, explaining how one can conveniently extend the weekend in June.

In 2025, Russia Day, which is celebrated annually on June 12, falls on Thursday. By moving the day off from March 8 (which this year fell on Saturday) to Friday, June 13, Russians will be able to rest for four days in a row - from June 12 to June 15.
"There will be 19 working days and 11 days off in June 2025. There are fewer working days this month than in other months, so employees with a 5/2 schedule should keep in mind that several vacation days in June may change their monthly payment. For example, if a specialist earning 100,000 rubles per month after taxes decides to take a three-day vacation from June 9 to 11, 2025, their vacation pay will be about 11,000 rubles, and their salary will be 84,210 rubles. In this case, the final amount for the month will be 95,210 rubles, which is 4,790 rubles less than the usual salary," Osmak said.
For those who still want to extend their vacation, there are several convenient options. So, taking a vacation from June 16 to 20 (5 days), you can combine it with the holiday weekend and rest for as many as 11 days - from June 12 to 22. And if you take a vacation from June 9 to 11 (3 days), the vacation will last 9 days - from June 7 to 15.
It is necessary to arrange a vacation no later than two weeks before it starts, the expert emphasized. For those who do not want to waste vacation days, there is an alternative - time off. According to labor legislation, every working Russian can arrange time off for working on weekends and holidays. "As for overtime hours, the following principle applies here: two hours of overtime give the right to two hours of rest. For example, if an employee stays late after work for two hours four days in a row, he has the right to count on a full day off as compensation. Thus, if an employee has accumulated time off, he can use them to extend the weekend in June," Osmak clarified.
You can also get a day off for medical reasons. For example, an employee under 40 years old can take one day off for a medical examination once every three years, and over 40 years old - once a year. Blood donors are also entitled to an additional day off by agreement with the employer.
In addition, the upcoming June holidays open up opportunities for additional earnings for those who plan to work on the holiday - the Labor Code of the Russian Federation guarantees double pay for work on official holidays, regardless of the form of payment, be it a salary, piecework or hourly system. At the same time, the employer must pay not only the standard salary, but also additional compensation for holiday shifts.
