NYPost: Man Couldn't Find His Wallet at Home for Two Days Because of Optical Illusion
A man lost his wallet at home and couldn't find it for two days due to an optical illusion. The story from the Reddit forum was noticed by the New York Post (NYPost).
The author of the post with the nickname Patient_Doughnut_327 posted a photo in the subreddit Mildly infuriating, which depicts a bathroom with a tiled floor. Between the large white tiles, there are smaller black ones. In the photo, you can see that under the towel, right on the black tile, there is a wallet of exactly the same size and color.
Patient_Doughnut_327 explained that the photo was taken in the house of his relative, who could not find his wallet for two days. It turned out that it fell out of his pocket in the bathroom and landed right on the tiles. Since then, the man searched the entire house and used the bathroom many times, but did not notice the wallet.
Forum members were amazed at how unnoticeable the wallet was. "If you hadn't told me, I would never have realized what was wrong with this photo," wrote milk_honey1. Another user said he knew right away that the black tiles were the problem, but it still took him a while to see the wallet.
In December 2024, it was reported that market traders in Thailand spent two months searching for a woman who had lost her wallet. It turned out that the customer lived in another village, and the wallet contained her pension.
