Man Dies in Head-On Collision Near Vytegra

Today, February 27, at half past eight in the morning, a fatal accident occurred in the Vologda Region. It all happened at 311 km of the A-119 road in the Vytegorsky District.

According to preliminary data from the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, the driver of a Volkswagen Passat was driving from Vytegra towards Vologda. At a place where a "No Overtaking" sign was installed, he decided to overtake a Skoda Octavia driven in the same direction by a man born in 1966. In the oncoming lane, the foreign car collided with a Scania truck driven by a man born in 1979. The impact threw the Volkswagen onto the Skoda.

As a result, the driver of the Volkswagen died on the spot from his injuries. His identity is being established.
