Russia May Have Official Football Day
Football Day may become one of the official holidays in Russia in the near future, the Telegram channel Baza reports. According to the source, experts from the Russian Academy of Sciences and officials from various ministries have already given a corresponding positive conclusion.
It is claimed that the document was sent to the Russian Football Union several days ago. The experts' conclusion states that the idea of establishing an All-Russian Football Day is fully consistent with the almost half-century history of this game in the Russian Federation. The authors of the post noted that the RAS supported the idea of establishing a memorial day.
It is assumed that this date will be celebrated every last Saturday of May. The publication says that the initiative was supported by representatives of the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The channel claims that the holiday itself is proposed to be organized by themed festivals and various events, as well as a parade on Red Square. It is expected that the government will have to agree on holding the holiday, then the document will be sent to the president for signature.
