NIZHNY NOVGOROD, June 4 - RIA Novosti. Sberbank transferred its significant critical information infrastructure facilities to domestic solutions at the end of last year, and at the same time completed its digital transformation, the bank's Senior Vice President Kirill Menshov told RIA Novosti at the CIPR-2025 site. "Two key events coincided in time for us: complete import substitution of software at significant critical information infrastructure facilities (ZOKII) and the completion of the transformation from a digital company to a platform company. We completed both of these processes simultaneously at the end of last year and since this year have moved on to transforming the entire IT landscape using generative artificial intelligence (GenAI)," Menshov said. The company replaced foreign software, including operating systems, databases, infrastructure management tools, antivirus systems and other critical elements. Most of the products are the company's own development. At the same time, there are also external solutions - for example, solutions from the Astra Group. One of the difficulties in the import substitution process, according to Menshov, was the insufficient maturity of some Russian analogues of foreign software. "A lot of solutions have been entered into the register of domestic software, but many of them require significant modifications and adaptation to the specifics of our requirements. This increases the implementation time and costs," he noted. In addition, the limited scale and high concentration of vendors in some narrow market segments oversaturate certain sectors, leaving important problems in other areas unresolved.
