The fraudster deceived the residents of Mangistau and spent their money on bets

Officers of the Department for Combating Extremism of the Police Department of the West Kazakhstan Region detained a 25-year-old resident of the region, who had been systematically deceiving residents of the West Kazakhstan and Mangistau regions since the beginning of 2023.
The suspect misled citizens under the pretext of purchasing equipment and vehicles, selling mobile phones, cashing out a trade loan and increasing funds. In October 2023, posing as an assistant in cashing out a trade loan, he took possession of more than four million tenge belonging to a resident of Uralsk. In addition, between April and October 2023, he deceived another resident of the city, promising to provide household appliances worth more than 4.5 million tenge, the police reported.
During the investigation, it was established that the fraudster's acquaintances fell for the bait. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted against the suspect on 14 episodes of fraud. The amount of damage caused exceeds 78 million tenge.
The fraudster was placed in a temporary detention facility. He admitted his guilt and said that he spent most of the money on bets. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
