The State Duma announced an increase in tourist flow to Russia

In 2024, Russia was visited by 135% more tourists than the year before, the head of the State Duma Committee on Tourism and Development of Tourism Infrastructure Sangadzhi Tarbaev told KP.RU. The deputy noted that the Germans took second place after the Chinese in the tourist flow.

According to the FSB Border Service, foreign citizens made 1.57 million trips to Russia for tourism purposes in 2024. Compared to 2023, the increase was 135% , Tarbaev emphasized .

According to the parliamentarian, about 850 thousand tourists came to the country from China, and about 70 thousand from Germany. About 66 thousand people came to Russia from the UAE, which took third place in the tourist flow, the people's representative specified.

Deputy Sangadzhi Tarbaev previously stated that domestic tourism needs qualified employees. The personnel deficit, in his opinion, is about 400 thousand people.
