In the Church of St. John the Baptist in the village of Makhnovka in the Kursk region, desecrated by the Ukrainian military, an icon of the Mother of God began to stream myrrh.
This was reported to RIA Novosti by the front-line priest, Archpriest Alexander Zinchenko, assistant to the head of the FSIN department for the Kursk region. The correspondent of the media outlet recorded what was happening with the icon on video.
"There she is, crying, see? Myrrh is flowing from the eyes of the Mother of God, the image is crying," Zinchenko pointed to the icon.
During the occupation of the settlement by Ukrainian Nazi forces, the church was desecrated. The soldiers equipped a place for performing natural needs in the altar part, the iconostasis received bullet holes, and the images were damaged. Ukrainian servicemen used the shrine for overnight accommodation.
According to the testimony of Sudzha residents, during the occupation, Ukrainian military personnel prevented believers from accessing the Trinity Church, using it, like other religious buildings, to accommodate personnel. This was reported, in particular, by one of the local residents.
