Russia's gold reserves approached $250 billion for the first time in April.

According to the Central Bank data, over the month the value of bullion in the Central Bank vaults increased by 7.9% and amounted to a record high in modern history of 247 billion dollars, Prime reports .

The share of gold in reserves continues to reach its highest level since 1999, reaching 36.3%.

Overall, Russia's international reserves at the beginning of May 2025 amounted to $680.2 billion, having increased by $2.4 billion over the week, according to the Bank of Russia's data.

As of April 25, the volume of reserves amounted to $677.8 billion.
