Pushkov: End of conflict in Ukraine could trigger collapse of EU

The head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media, Alexey Pushkov, reported on his Telegram channel that the end of the conflict in Ukraine could lead to the collapse of the European Union.

He specified that at the moment, the leaders of European countries are desperately trying not to notice Ukraine's defeat. However, after it happens, the European Union will face "Ukrainian syndrome".

"The most dramatic consequence of the Ukrainian syndrome will be the weakening of Brussels' power and a crisis of "European integration". It could go as far as the breakaway of some countries from the European Union and ultimately - as far as the possible collapse of the EU," Pushkov noted.

According to him, US President Donald Trump perceives the conflict in Ukraine as an economic and political burden. At the same time, for the European Union and Great Britain, the conflict remains almost the raison d'être.
