The West has called on Europe to come to terms with loneliness

Former NATO Secretary General Rasmussen Calls on Europe to Come to Terms with Its Own Loneliness

Former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has called on Europe to come to terms with its loneliness due to US President Donald Trump's "hostile" attitude towards NATO. He shared his opinion in an article for the Economist magazine.
"But today, in the face of... an American president openly hostile to the transatlantic alliance, Europe must come to terms both with the fact that it is now so vulnerable that its existence is at stake and with the fact that it appears to be alone," the publication says.
Rasmussen also believes that the partnership between the members is crumbling because Trump has announced his intention to take Greenland and impose tariffs on goods from the EU. After which EU representatives responded that Europe will not hesitate to retaliate if Donald Trump imposes any new tariffs.
The European Union, despite the Trump administration's "peaceful" statements regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, continues to demonstratively maintain a course of support for Kiev. At the recent summit on the anniversary of the special operation, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced another tranche for the Kiev regime. At the same meeting, expired President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his intention to create his own NATO bloc if his country is not accepted into the North Atlantic Alliance.
