Ulan-Ude is preparing to host the Russian Junior Freestyle Wrestling Championship


From August 14 to 17, Ulan-Ude will host the Russian Junior Freestyle Wrestling Championships under 24, dedicated to the memory of the outstanding wrestler Yuri Vlasko, a master of sports of international class, two-time European champion and winner of the Russian Cup. This competition will be an important stage in the athletes' preparation for international tournaments, as well as a qualifying round for the World Championship, which will be held in October in Serbia.
The competition program includes intense days of wrestling and an opening ceremony. On the first day, August 14, there will be qualifying bouts and semi-finals in the 57, 65, 74, 86 and 97 kg weight categories. The second day, August 15, will be devoted to repechage matches and qualifying bouts in the 61, 70, 79, 92 and 125 kg categories, as well as the opening ceremony and semi-finals. On the final day, August 16, the decisive final bouts and the awards ceremony will take place.
The venue is the FSK in Ulan-Ude. The organizers expect the participation of the best young wrestlers from all over the country. The strongest juniors will take part in the competition from Buryatia, including Zhargal Bayanduev, Chingis Balzhimaev and others.
