Another lie collapsed! Response to baseless allegations about Hulusi Akar's daughter: There is no Council of State decision

In the Republican People's Party, where crises are never lacking, the scandal of the fake diploma of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu has come to the fore. CHP journalists who tried to prove the validity of İmamoğlu's diploma resorted to slander. Journalists such as İsmail Saymaz and Fatih Altaylı made false claims about the diploma of Serra Akar, the daughter of the TBMM National Defense Commission President Hulusi Akar.
Hulisi Akar's lawyer, Samet Can Olgaç, made a written statement regarding the news about Akar's daughter.
In the statement, Olgaç stated that the news in question was "untrue and slanderous" and that attempts were made to spread it "intentionally."
Olgaç stated that the claims made by some journalists, disregarding the achievements and feelings of a young doctor, are not consistent with reality and noted the following:
"We insistently and absolutely reject and condemn the distortions, lies and slanders that are not in line with the facts, put forward by some so-called politicians who are always talking about human rights, who are devoid of morality and humanity, some journalists, and a young female doctor, disregarding her achievements and feelings. The DePaul University Pre-Medical Biology program, which overlaps with the education program given in the first 2 years of the 6-year medical school education in Turkey, is a program that includes applied courses and clinical studies, which only accept students who want to enter medical school in the USA. It is completely different from the biology department of the faculty of arts and sciences or the biology teaching department of the faculties of education in Turkey. Mr. Akar's daughter studied at the DePaul University Pre-Medical Biology department for 2 years and completed it with a 4.0 GPA. Following the aforementioned application, an application was made to the university with the requested information and documents for the necessary procedures, it was evaluated and decided by the academic and scientific board of the relevant university, completely outside of the individuals, and the Hacettepe University English Medicine He was accepted to the faculty and successfully completed his education, and many other students also benefited from this legal right."
"THERE IS NO COUNCIL OF STATE DECISION"
Lawyer Samet Can Olgaç emphasized that "the transactions were carried out in accordance with the legislation in force at the time, without any personal details and without any external intervention, and in a transparent manner, with the decision of the board," and continued as follows:
"Despite knowing these facts, such baseless, unfounded claims and comments that are a smear campaign and an attack on reputation targeting Mr. Akar and his family are incompatible with any ethical and moral values, especially the principles of the press profession. They are entirely aimed at gaining political interests and misleading the public. In addition, the publications mention that a decision was made by the Council of State, and there is absolutely no Council of State decision regarding the acceptance of Mr. Akar's daughter to the university.
On the other hand, regarding the publications made on the same subject before, the Ankara 3rd Criminal Court of Peace, with its decision dated May 30, 2023; '...although it was stated in the news that the daughter of the requester was accepted to the Faculty of Medicine despite the lack of equivalence between the two departments by making diploma irregularities, upon examination of the request document, it was determined that the transfer process in question was not contrary to the legislation in force at that time, similarly, many students also benefited from this right, the content of the news exceeded the quality of 'real news' and fell outside the scope of freedom of reporting, and violated the personal rights of the requester by damaging his reputation in the eyes of the society, and considering together that the publication of the answers regarding the authenticity of the news would provide the opportunity for the persons accessing the publication to obtain information on the subject from a different source...', it was decided to accept the denial request.
"LEGAL ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN"
Underlining that the objection made by the opposing party to the decision in question was also definitively rejected by the Ankara 4th Criminal Court of Peace with its decision dated June 14, 2023, Olgaç made the assessment that "Despite this, persistently increasing the dose of lies is incompatible with human values and press ethics."
Olgaç stated that the publications in question included false allegations that violated Akar’s personal rights, targeted his honorable public services and work, and attempted to create a false perception in the public. She also stated that legal action would be taken against the biased, false and slanderous publications.
