Applications for the Artificial Intelligence Academic Thesis Program have begun.

According to a written statement from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the program aims to increase competencies in artificial intelligence in the defense industry, contribute to the need for qualified human resources, and foster strong collaboration between academia and industry. The ATP will be addressed through undergraduate graduation projects and graduate thesis studies on artificial intelligence in the defense industry. Participating students will be provided with various opportunities, including internships, academic publication support, and meetings with industry representatives. Applications for the ATP 2025-2026 period must be submitted online at https://atp.sayzek.org.tr/ until October 10, 2025.

The program included Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Communication Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Systems and Technologies (CTIS), Physics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mathematics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Astronautical Engineering, Space and Satellite Engineering, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and the Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Statistics departments of the faculties of Science and Arts.

RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON NOVEMBER 3

This year, students will apply by choosing from a total of 65 topics. Accepted students will be announced on November 3, 2025. Students who are Turkish citizens, are in their final year of undergraduate studies, are working on a graduation project/thesis, or are currently working on a master's thesis with a thesis, and have a GPA of at least 2.20 may apply individually or in teams of up to three people. Applications will be conducted under the supervision of an academic advisor. Evaluations will be based on GPA, foreign language scores, certificates, competition achievements, participation in TÜBİTAK projects, and national/international article writing. Last year, the ATP, held for the first time, received 421 applications from 119 universities and 58 departments.
