Ceremony for police officer İbrahim Birol, who died of a heart attack during an operation

Police officer İbrahim Birol , who was on duty at the Provincial Police Department Narcotics Branch, had a heart attack during an operation against drug dealers. Birol, who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved despite all efforts of the doctors and was martyred. A ceremony was held in the garden of the Police Department for the martyred police officer İbrahim Birol, who was married and a father of two. The ceremony was attended by Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Police Chief Atanur Aydın, the martyred police officer's wife Evrim, his children İrem (14) and Can Birol (6), his relatives and colleagues. After a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, İbrahim Birol's CV was read.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Gökmen Çiçek stated that they will continue to fight against drugs with determination and said, "We are sending our hero to heaven. May God reunite us in heaven with our hero who fought to prevent our youth from being poisoned and trapped by scoundrels and who was martyred in the line of duty. Our martyr İbrahim ran from operation to operation in the fight against drugs in Kayseri .

He wanted none of our youth to be thrown into the swamp. None of our youth to be poisoned. He was martyred in the line of duty while fighting for this cause. His teammates, superiors, brothers, together with the people of Kayseri, we promise once again. We will not allow any of our youth to be poisoned at any cost," he said.

Provincial Police Chief Atanur Aydın said, "We will take revenge on every drug dealer, every drug dealer. In this country, one Ibrahim goes, thousands of Ibrahims come to ask for an account. They should never forget this. May God grant his precious family a peaceful and healthy life. We are a big and strong family, we will take revenge on this too."

Martyr Birol's body was sent to his hometown, Pınarbaşı district, to be buried after the ceremony. (DHA)
