Fire breaks out on a ship carrying plastic raw materials

The fire broke out in the evening hours at the port near the Yumurtalık Free Zone.

Those who saw smoke rising from the Thormonadic, a plastic raw material-laden ship anchored in the port, reported the situation to the fire department. Upon the report, many fire crews were dispatched to the area.

The fire was brought under control by intervention from land and sea.

While cooling efforts continue on the ship, the cause of the fire is being investigated.
