Victory Day, August 30th, falls on a Saturday this year. Citizens who want to experience the joy of the holiday or join in the celebrations are wondering whether public transportation will be free.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that, according to the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, urban rail system lines affiliated with the Ministry in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir will provide free service on August 30.

Minister Uraloğlu said, “These lines will provide all our citizens with fast, easy, and economical transportation throughout the day.”
IETT, EGO AND ESHOT SITUATIONThere's no official statement on whether municipal buses, metros, and other transportation will be free. Citizens should follow the status of İETT, EGO, and ESHOT lines through local government announcements.
