Minister Uraloğlu: New tower projects to strengthen broadcasting infrastructure in 30 metropolitan cities will be implemented

Minister Uraloğlu made statements regarding the work initiated to spread the Çamlıca and Çanakkale towers model throughout Turkey. In his written statement, Uraloğlu stated that they will implement similar ones to the Çamlıca Tower, which is the highest television and radio tower in Europe, within the scope of the 30 Provinces Common Tower Infrastructure Project. Stating that these projects will both modernize the broadcasting infrastructure and contribute to the city silhouette, Uraloğlu said, "Within the scope of the 30 Provinces Common Tower Infrastructure Project, our work continues to establish high-capacity transmitter towers suitable for FM, DAB+ and DVB-T2 broadcasting technologies in our provinces. We have started preliminary preparations for the construction of a tower in Trabzon Boztepe, and work to take over two transmitter masts that currently serve the central districts and currently belong to broadcasters in the Gündoğdu village of Osmangazi district of Bursa province. We took over the existing mast in Tekirdağ Süleymanpaşa and started broadcasting in January 2025. We are carrying out the process meticulously. These towers will be equipped with new broadcasting infrastructures, their energy efficiency will be increased by more than 10 times, and more environmentally friendly and low-carbon emission broadcasting services will be provided."

Emphasizing that new generation tower projects will provide significant gains not only technically but also environmentally and aesthetically, Uraloğlu said, "With this project, we will eliminate old antennas and masts that are scattered around our cities and create an ugly appearance. We will reduce electromagnetic pollution by providing broadcasting services from a single center. In this way, our citizens will be exposed to an electromagnetic field value far below world standards and the silhouette of our cities will be integrated with a modern architecture. In addition, our citizens will primarily benefit from the audio and visual advantages of digital television and digital radio in these 30 metropolitan cities."

Stating that dozens of analog and digital broadcasters will be served with the towers to be established or taken over in 30 metropolitan cities, Uraloğlu said, "Thanks to these projects, our citizens will have access to higher quality broadcasts and our cities will gain a new face in terms of technology and visuals."
