Murat Gülibrahimoğlu, who was arrested as part of a corruption investigation and was determined to have fled the country, was found to have made a billion-dollar swindle with fake invoices from Istanbul's excavation dump sites.

It is alleged that the money smuggled abroad was a 50% share of the money between former Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and the fugitive Murat Gülibrahimoğlu.
