Reception held in Ankara on the occasion of Bulgaria's National Day

The reception held at the Bulgarian Embassy in Ankara was attended by Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the European Union (EU) Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Bulgarian Ambassador to Ankara Anguel Tcholakov, Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, President of the Turkey-Bulgaria Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Mustafa Yavuz and many guests.
The event began with the singing of the national anthems of the two countries.
In his speech here, Ambassador Tcholakov stated that today, in addition to the Bulgarian National Day, the friendship and partnership between the two countries are also celebrated.
Stating that the two countries are neighbors and friends in many areas such as political dialogue, economy, tourism, culture, security, border security, migration management and academic research, Tcholakov touched on the work done between Bulgaria and Türkiye.
Tcholakov noted that in 2024, the 25th anniversary of one of the most successful Turkish investors in his country and the region will be celebrated.
Tcholakov, who reported that three NATO countries bordering the Black Sea (Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria) signed an agreement to jointly act against the threat of mines, said, "On the other side of the world, we celebrated our extraordinary partnership in Antarctica and our great cooperation in the field of polar research."
Tcholakov reminded that today is also the birthday of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and wished President Erdoğan a happy birthday.
Following the speeches, guests were given "marteniçka" bracelets, a tradition to celebrate the arrival of spring in Bulgaria, and served food.
