Shara's message of unity: He demanded the surrender of weapons

Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara spoke at the National Dialogue Conference held at the presidential palace in the capital Damascus to determine the country's new roadmap. Stating that a transitional justice commission would be established, al-Shara said, "We will work to establish a transitional justice body to restore the rights of our people, ensure justice and, God willing, bring the criminals to justice."
Stating that they have been working to find those who committed crimes against Syrians for the last two months, al-Shara said regarding the surrender of weapons, "The unity of weapons and their state monopoly is not a luxury, but a duty and necessity." Stating that "Syria is indivisible, a complete whole and its strength comes from its unity," al-Shara said, "I call on all Syrians to unite and join hands to heal the wounds and relieve the pain after decades of dictatorship."

Noting that Syrians have a great responsibility in rebuilding the country, al-Shaara said, "What we are experiencing today is an extraordinary, historic opportunity. We must take advantage of every moment of it to serve the interests of our people and our country." Ahmed al-Shaara said that there are those who want to undermine the achievements of the Syrian people, and said, "We must resolutely fight against those who want to harm our security and unity and turn the negative situation in Syria into opportunism."
