Tahtaköprü Dam's water level reached 172 million cubic meters

The water level in the Tahtaköprü Dam with a capacity of 455 million cubic meters in the İslahiye district, which irrigates most of the agricultural lands in the Amik Plain in Hatay, reached 186 million cubic meters on the same date last year, but decreased to 172 million cubic meters in the same period this year.

Islahiye Mayor Kemal Vural said in a statement, "While the total occupancy rate of the dam was 41 percent last year, this rate has dropped to 38 percent as of today. However, we have sufficient water resources for current irrigation."

Tahtaköprü Dam is also home to 6,447 birds from 22 bird species.
