In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that a report was made to the Istanbul Police Department Public Security Branch Directorate Morality Bureau about the suspect Merve Taşkın.
In the indictment, it was noted that in the examination of Taşkın's social media account, he shared obscene images of himself and sold the pornographic content he produced on a site banned in Turkey for money.
In his statement included in the indictment, Taşkın said that the page belonged to him, that he made the post about February 14 in order to create interaction, and that he did not think that the photos in the same account constituted a crime.
Taşkın stated that the photos shared from an account on the social media platform X belonged to him, that he sent the photos to the people he was talking to at the time, and that he did not know the people who shared them or the account owner who shared them.
Taşkın, who stated that the images belonging to him were private messages he sent but that he did not remember to whom he sent them, did not accept the accusations.
Although the indictment states that he did not share the images, when the law enforcement investigation report and the entire file are evaluated together, it is recorded that the suspect committed the crime of "serial obscenity " by publishing obscene images and words through the press.
The indictment, which requests that Taşkın be sentenced to a prison sentence of 7 months and 15 days to 5 years and 3 months for the crime he is accused of, was sent to the criminal court of first instance for evaluation.
A judicial control decision in the form of "house arrest" was issued for Merve Taşkın at the courthouse where she was referred after she was detained due to a post she made on her social media account on February 14, Valentine's Day.
