Organized as part of TEKNOFEST 2025 with the theme of "Blue Homeland," the reflection of the National Technology Initiative vision on the seas, TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland kicked off at Istanbul Naval Shipyard Command on August 28th. Bringing together technology and defense industry enthusiasts with a focus on maritime, the event will be open to the public on August 29th, 30th, and 31st. Visits will be held in three separate sessions: 09:00-12:00, 12:00-15:00, and 15:00-18:00. Each visitor will only have access to one session. The event, which will focus on maritime and underwater technologies, will feature the Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition, the Underwater Rocket Competition, and the Unmanned Marine Vehicle Competition.
Aydın Karakurt, who came to tour the ships with his daughter, said, "May these be auspicious for our country and nation. They are a wonderful national treasure. May God bless those who built them, especially Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. When we see unmanned aerial vehicles, we get goosebumps; we feel proud when we see them."
'THOSE WHO LIVE OUTSIDE THE CITY SHOULD ALSO COME AND SEE IT'Kadir Bostan, who said he was from out of town, said, “Everything is perfect; there's been a tremendous amount of effort. Because the country's defense is in this state, we're a little more at peace and happy at home, so we really enjoyed it. I came today, and if there's another appointment tomorrow, I'll come again. We've already told all our friends and family. I highly recommend that our citizens living out of town come and see it. There's truly been a tremendous amount of effort. Come, they'll have it today and tomorrow. I highly recommend coming every two days.”
'WE WERE VERY EMOTIONAL'İsmail Hakkı Çetinkaya, who came to the festival with his wife, said, "May it bring good luck to our country and our nation. We were very pleased. May God grant us even better things. We saw the Red Apple, we saw the helicopters. They did a wonderful job, we loved it." Nurcan Çetinkaya said, "We saw so many beautiful things. I mean, our country deserves better, and these are wonderful, too. I believe we will reach even greater heights. We were deeply moved. Everything is so beautiful that I can't even describe it. I can't find the words to describe it. You have to experience it, you have to see it; we saw it, it was truly wonderful. Everyone should come and see it. They should come and see it live, they should experience the atmosphere, it was wonderful."
