Deputy Governor Ömer Faruk Ateş, Deputy Mayor Nazif Bilginoğlu, Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Ahmet Demirbağ, Provincial Special Administration Secretary General Cemil Yatkın, Harput Castle Excavation Director Prof. Dr. İsmail Aytaç and invitees attended the opening of the exhibition.
In his statement regarding the exhibition, Ateş stated that the Dede Korkut stories are stories that every Turkish child should know.
Ateş, who stated that they had opened a very meaningful exhibition in this context, said, "Dede Korkut reflects many examples of family and devotion to the country. Our valuable students here are telling us many examples of these. They are truly valuable painting techniques. Our teacher also mentioned that they blended this with the artificial intelligence techniques that we use in every field today."
FU Faculty of Letters academician Prof. Dr. Esma Şimşek also stated that the Dede Korkut stories are one of the important values of Turkish culture.
For this reason, Şimşek said that everyone from 7 to 70 should definitely read and know it, and noted the following:
"The Dede Korkut stories are one of the cornerstones of our culture, the most important. That's why Fuat Köprülü says, 'Put all the works of Turkish literature on one side of the scale and put the Dede Korkut stories on the other, it will still outweigh.' Why does it outweigh? In fact, there are stories here that everyone from 7 to 70 can understand when read, but these are our epic stories and there are examples of many things here, from belief to tradition, culture and language. In other words, we don't just see the adventures of the heroes in the Dede Korkut stories there. We see the relationship between people and the life, literature, sociology, psychology and belief of the Oghuz people within these."
Yelda Usal, Assistant Professor at FÜ Faculty of Education, said that the graduate students have created valuable digital works on the Dede Korkut stories using artificial intelligence and graphic techniques within the scope of the TÜBİTAK project and graduation project.
Harput Castle Excavation Director Prof. Dr. İsmail Aytaç also stated that they hosted a meaningful exhibition in a historical place and said, "Of course, while we were doing a multi-stakeholder study here, while revealing the works of art of the past, it was necessary to also exhibit current, contemporary works of art. Of course, these events are multi-stakeholder studies, and I would like to state that they will continue from now on."
