This year, photographers from 114 nationalities submitted approximately 22,000 photographs to the competition, which has been held for 11 years.

In the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to examine photographs documenting striking events on the world agenda, from Israel's ongoing attacks on Gaza to the devastating floods in East Africa, from the volcanic eruption in Iceland to the athletes of the Paris 2024 Olympics, from Afghan women's struggle for survival to prisoners liberated from Sednaya Prison, from Brazilian surfers battling big waves to the perilous journeys of migrants.

The award-winning photographs in the exhibition, which will be open to visitors at the Blue Gallery until October 26, will then be moved to the United Nations (UN) Headquarters and exhibited for the second time.

Information about the award-winning photographs in the competition, where individual and series photographs in the categories of news, sports, nature and environment, portrait and daily life were evaluated, can be found at " istanbulphotoawards.com ".

This year, the competition, which is organized under the communications sponsorship of Turkcell, is supported by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) as the international event sponsor and Turkish Airlines (THY) as the partial transportation sponsor.
