The contract of the company currently providing vehicle inspection services will expire on August 14, 2027 (AA) In order for the public service to continue without interruption after the end of the contracts and the expiration of the current contracts in 2027, a tender process was initiated for the privatization of the construction, maintenance and operation services of vehicle inspection stations in two regions for the period 2027-2047.
In the tender held yesterday by the Privatization Administration, a total bid of 1 billion 720 million dollars was submitted by the MOI Joint Venture Group (Met-Gün İnşaat Taahhüt ve Ticaret AŞ-Itversia Gestion SL-Opus Group AB-VTV Norte SA) as the price of the 20-year concession right, 830 million dollars for the 1st region vehicle inspection services and 890 million dollars for the 2nd region vehicle inspection services.
As a result of the tender, the new company will provide vehicle inspection services for 20 years. (AA) In the technically concluded tenders, the concession agreements will be signed following the decisions of the Competition Board and the President and the opinion of the Council of State. The buyer company will pay the public share of the inspection fees it will collect, as in the current practice, except for the privatization fee, at the rate determined in the relevant legislation.
According to the legislation, during the 20-year concession period, 30 percent of the inspection fees for the first three years, 40 percent for the next 7 years, and 50 percent for the last 10 years will be transferred to the Treasury as public share.
