CHP reacts to the cancellation of the Istanbul Provincial Congress: The decision is null and void

The Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance ruled to cancel the CHP's Istanbul Provincial Congress, which was held in October 2023. CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik, the main and alternate members of the Provincial Executive Board, and the main and alternate members of the Provincial Disciplinary Board were suspended from their duties as a precautionary measure.
Reacting to the decision, CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut made the following statement:
Our Istanbul Provincial Congress was annulled by the court, devoid of any legal basis. Our Provincial Chairman, Özgür Çelik, and our provincial administration, who selflessly defended Istanbul's rights and laws, were dismissed. This decision by a politicized judiciary is null and void. We will fight resolutely against those who seek to design politics in the corridors of the courthouse. We will continue to defend Istanbul's will, democracy, and the rule of law.
"CHP WAS NOT FOUNDED IN THE COURTS"
CHP Deputy Chairman Ulaş Karasu reacted, saying, "The CHP was not founded in the courts, nor was it destroyed by coups. We have never bowed down to any operation you have carried out with a politicized judiciary, and we will never do so! The decision against our Istanbul Provincial Organization and our Provincial Chair, Özgür Çelik, is null and void. We will not surrender to your conspiracies and will hold them accountable for their unlawfulness!"
"PALACE LAW IS EVERYWHERE NOW"
CHP Istanbul Deputy Cemal Enginyurt shared a post on social media, saying, "The cancellation of the CHP Istanbul congress is a usurpation of rights. The Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) institution should be shut down immediately. Palace law is everywhere now. What does the YSK do if the court cancels the congress after three years?"
