Osmangazi swallowed three bridge fees in nine years

The Osmangazi Bridge, which was opened as a build-operate-transfer (BOT) project on June 30, 2016, has completed its 9th year and 3 bridge fees have been paid to the operating company.

IT WILL LAST UNTIL 2035

CHP Erzincan Deputy Mustafa Sarıgül said, “For the bridge, the construction cost of which was 1 billion 400 million dollars, 4 billion 500 million dollars has been paid to the operating company under the name of guarantee and due to the price difference. The treasury has paid for three bridges in 9 years.”

Sarıgül said the following in his statement to SÖZCÜ: The bridge’s operation period will last until 2035. Millions of our citizens will have to make payments for the next 10 years. The number of vehicles guaranteed on the Osmangazi Bridge, which has an annual 14 million 600 thousand vehicle guarantee, was exceeded in 2024, but despite the fact that 19 million 100 thousand vehicles passed, millions of dollars were paid to the company. Because, according to the contract, although the bridge toll is 2 thousand 183 TL, the driver pays 795 TL, and for each vehicle that passes, 1 thousand 388 TL is additionally paid to the operating company by the Treasury.”
