Tanju Özcan's apology to Ali Koç: I overstepped my limits

A controversy recently broke out between Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Ali Koç and Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan.
The argument started with Özcan saying, "If you do not send Dominik Livakovic, Archie Brown and Talisca to Boluspor within three business days, I will erect this lion in Bolu square and name it Ali Koç," and Ali Koç called Özcan.
After this meeting, Özcan said, "Ali Koç just called me. He probably tried to put me in my place, emboldened by his money. Of course, he got his comeuppance. Don't try calling and insulting elected officials with the spoiled brat of a waterside house again. Money isn't accepted everywhere, and not every bird's meat is edible."
Özcan apologized after receiving intense reactions from Fenerbahçe fans.
ANOTHER APOLOGY AT THE MUNICIPAL COUNCILThe Tanju Özcan and Ali Koç debate was on the agenda again at the last meeting of the Bolu Municipal Council held yesterday.
A person who stated that he worked at the Arçelik factory owned by Koç Holding in Bolu told Özcan that he owed Ali Koç an apology.
Stating that Ali Koç is his boss and provides bread to 5,000 people in Bolu, the person said, "It's between his teeth. We can't bear the consequences if he closes the factory here."
"THE FENERBAHÇE COMMUNITY PASSED OVER ME"Özcan said, "The man is tough, how can I go to him like that? Can I get out of there with no eyebrows or eyebrows left untouched?"
When the apology persisted, Özcan said, "I apologize for calling you a "Yalı kid." I overstepped my bounds. I didn't say anything to the Fenerbahçe community, and I won't. The entire community has passed me by. Even when I see a kid in a Fenerbahçe jersey, I stand at attention." This ended the argument.
