Official reserve assets of the Central Bank (CBRT) increased by 1.1 percent last week compared to the previous week, reaching $166.2 billion.

The Central Bank announced the 'International Reserves and Foreign Exchange Liquidity Developments' data for the week of July 11.

Accordingly, official reserve assets increased by 1.1 percent last week to $166.2 billion. The changes are as follows:

  • Foreign exchange assets: $73.8 billion, up 2.5 percent
  • Gold assets: $84.7 billion, up 0.1 percent
  • Total IMF reserve position and SDR: 0.4 percent decrease to $7.7 billion

Foreign exchange liabilities of the public sector (CBRT and central government), which affect foreign exchange liquidity in the short term, decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the previous week, to $121.3 billion, while predetermined foreign exchange liabilities decreased by 1.5 percent, to $61.8 billion.

Contingent foreign exchange liabilities decreased by 0.1 percent compared to the previous week, falling to $59.5 billion.

As of this week, the Central Bank's total foreign exchange liabilities arising from foreign currency swap transactions are at $19.6 billion.
