Vahap Seçer became the new deputy chairman of TTB

MERSIN/ECONOMY Following the TTB assembly meeting in Ankara, Vahap Seçer thanked his supporters and emphasized unity, solidarity, and equality. Seçer emphasized that despite being a CHP mayor, he has served every segment of society in Mersin and stated that he will continue to uphold this same approach within the TBB. In his speech, Seçer also addressed the operations and arrests targeting CHP mayors, saying, “We are mayors. We all have honor, dignity, families, and children. The photos and images broadcast on those television screens sadden us all. The fundamental principle of law is the presumption of innocence. You do not have the right to portray people as guilty by having those photos broadcast on television before they have even proven their guilt or issued a verdict. Do not make unnecessary arrests of our mayors on light and trumped-up grounds. Arrests are the exception; you have made trial without detention the exception.” Seçer emphasized that if there is injustice and lawlessness, this should be addressed as a matter above politics, emphasizing their opposition to a system in which those who seize power oppress the powerless.
