Who is Yigit Bulut?

Yiğit Bulut was born in 1972 in the Keşan district of Edirne. He graduated from Galatasaray High School and the banking and finance department of Bilkent University. He received his master's degree from the Sorbonne University. Bulut's father, Mustafa Bulut, was elected as a member of parliament from the Justice Party in 1977.

Yiğit Bulut has worked as an economics commentator for Kanal 6, Kanal E, and CNN Türk, and as a columnist on economics and finance for Radikal, Vatan, and Referans newspapers. He also produced and hosted the programs Parameter and Finance Analysis. He also worked as a lecturer at Doğuş University for a period.

His last post as editor-in-chief of Habertürk TV, to which he had been appointed in 2009, was terminated by the Ciner Media Group on January 3, 2012. This also brought an end to his columns published in Habertürk newspaper. Shortly thereafter, he signed a deal with Star Media Group and was appointed editor-in-chief of 24 TV. He also began writing for Star newspaper. In 2009, he hosted the discussion program "Sensorless," which he had launched on Habertürk TV, on 24 TV. In July 2013, he was appointed chief advisor to the prime minister. On August 30, 2014, a new decree appointed him chief advisor to the president responsible for the economy.
