Edirnekapı Martyrs' Memorial was flooded with visitors

The EDİRNEKAPI Martyrs' Memorial was flooded with visitors on the ninth anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt. The martyrs were commemorated with Quran recitations and prayers.
Those martyred in the 2016 FETÖ coup attempt were commemorated with prayers at the Edirnekapı Martyrs' Cemetery as part of July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day. The cemetery was flooded with visitors, and families of the martyrs and veterans were moved to tears.

Fatma Aytekin said, "None of those buried here are close to me. But we visited each and every one of them, offered prayers. We don't know them, but they are all like our brothers and sisters. I'm deeply moved today. Yes, they sacrificed their lives to save our homeland without a second thought. May they all rest in peace. This is truly a very special and meaningful day. I'm so happy to be here. I'm moved to sit here. I visited each and every one of them. Frankly, I plan to sit here and be moved a little longer. I've found peace here."
'I DON'T KNOW ANY NATION LIKE THIS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD'Nurettin Işkın, who was in Saraçhane on the night of July 15th, said, “He’s not just my brother. He’s my blood brother, not my real brother. I hope we never experience that day, that night again. Everyone has become one. For what? For our flag and our call to prayer. I don’t know if there’s another nation like him anywhere else in the world. Standing against such an uprising, such treachery, with all their nails, their bare hands, not even a pocket knife, those weapons in their pockets, at their sides, I think belongs to the Turkish nation. Thank God. I’m a child of this country. Just up there, there lies the resting place of 14 of our brothers. There’s a 14-and-a-half-year-old Halil İbrahim Yıldırım there. I was 63 that night. I was there. I’m alive. That child passed away as a sapling. May God never let him live again.”
Nahide Dalkıran, who lost her uncle on the night of July 15th, said, "He went for his country. He said, 'I would sacrifice my life for my country and my nation. I can't sit at home, I will go and serve my country.' He went and became a martyr."
