Catalonia is grappling with forest fires!

According to the Spanish newspaper El Pais, more than 3,000 hectares of forest were reduced to ashes due to fires in Catalonia.

The fires have negatively impacted the lives of 18,000 residents, and authorities have ordered residents to stay indoors.

Catalan Autonomous Government President Salvador Illa announced that four people were slightly injured and one firefighter suffered heat stroke due to the fires.

Strong winds are having an impact

Authorities said winds reaching speeds of 90 kilometers per hour were making firefighting efforts difficult.

Smoke from the fire reached the city of Alicante, approximately 400 kilometers away.
