Laser beam shined at plane landing at Sabiha Gökçen Airport

An unidentified person or persons shined a laser at the plane landing at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. The pilot informed the air traffic control tower via radio about the laser affecting the plane's systems during the landing approach. The conversation between the pilot and the Air Traffic Controller was reflected in the radio records. During the conversation, the pilot of the plane stated, "I want to make a laser notification. They shined a laser at the plane for approximately 3 minutes during the approach from a large entertainment area with boats in front of it on the approach line on the east side of Büyükada." Air traffic controllers also reported the situation to the security officers. The plane landed without any problems.
According to the administrative fines issued by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, those who commit crimes such as 'Pointing a laser at aircraft in a way that would endanger flight safety', 'Interfering with aircraft communications or committing similar violations' are subject to an administrative fine of 131,176 lira. It is known that a person who previously pointed a laser at a Delta Airlines aircraft in the United States and was found to have committed this crime many times was sentenced to prison.
