Opposition parties' group proposals were not accepted in the TBMM General Assembly
Speaking on his party's group proposal, New Path Party Group Chairman Bülent Kaya criticized the fact that a disabled MP was not elected as the head of the TBMM Disabled Persons' Problems Research Commission.
Noting that politics is done to solve the people's problems, Kaya said, "Come, let's investigate whoever there is the slightest allegation about, no matter who it touches, let the TBMM show a will on this issue, first the political institution, then the public, be cleansed of these corruption allegations and people will not dare to do it again."
CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu stated that the Council of Europe Group of States Against Corruption visited Turkey and said, "They last came in 2023. They made the following observations: 'There has been no progress since then.'"
Following Tanrıkulu's statement that "MPs have a great interest in the mining law," AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu took the floor.
Yenişehirlioğlu stated that he regretfully condemned Tanrıkulu's statement and said, "Such statements, such comments are statements that damage the trust and respect of the MPs towards each other. I find it neither right, healthy nor moral to portray all the MPs here as if they will benefit from the mining law."
AK Party Istanbul Deputy Nurettin Alan underlined that all kinds of work and transactions carried out by the administration are subject to judicial review and said that those who violate the law will be tried by independent courts regardless of their party affiliation.
Alan said that the rate of personnel who were given investigation permission between 2004 and 2025 was 35.23 percent in AKP municipalities, while it was 31.75 percent in CHP municipalities.
Alan, who drew attention to the fact that when the investigations opened against CHP municipalities are examined, all of the complainants, witnesses and informants are from the CHP, said, "The one complaining about the Beykoz Mayor is his own advisor, the new CHP Mayor complaining about the former mayor and his administration in the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the witnesses and informants complaining about the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and his team are all from the CHP. So what needs to be done? Are we saying that these people should not be tried? If you were the prosecutor, how would you close this file that came before you?"
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır claimed that Alan's statements were "lies."
Taking the floor upon his party's group proposal, İYİ Party Muğla Deputy Metin Ergun claimed that the tourism sector was facing a deep crisis and said, "Wrong economic policies have made Turkey one of the most expensive countries in the world. This bad situation deeply affects the tourism sector."
AK Party Muğla Deputy Kadem Mete stated that Turkish tourism has made a big leap in the ranking of world tourism countries during the AK Party government and gave the following information:
"The number of visitors to our country increased by 278 percent between 2003 and 2024, reaching 62.3 million people. Tourism revenues increased by 392 percent between 2002 and 2024, reaching 61.1 billion dollars. Turkey ranked 6th in the world in terms of visitors in 2019, and rose to 4th place in 2024."
Noting that Türkiye has entered a rapid recovery process after the pandemic, Mete said, "When we compare 2019, which is called the golden year of tourism, with the figures of 2024, we have left 2019 behind in 2024. Therefore, our work continues to break a new record in 2025."
Taking the floor upon her party's group proposal, DEM Party Mersin Deputy Perihan Koca Doğan claimed that the principle of equality in inheritance sharing had been abolished with a published circular.
AK Party Zonguldak Deputy Saffet Bozkurt emphasized that the right to property is guaranteed in the Constitution and that the protection of women's right to property is a fundamental principle that is not even open to discussion.
Bozkurt stated that women receiving a fair share of inheritance is not only a matter of law but also a requirement of social conscience, and continued as follows:
"Amendments have been made to the Law on Mediation in Legal Disputes numbered 6325, and the scope of disputes that can be resolved through litigation and voluntary mediation has been expanded, disputes regarding the transfer of real estate and the establishment of limited real rights on real estate, as well as disputes regarding the division of real estate and the dissolution of partnership have been included in the scope of mediation, and it has been regulated that one of the parties can request registration of the mediation agreement document from the land registry office."
Bozkurt stated that the mediation process does not prevent these procedures, but is merely an alternative solution to reconciliation before the lawsuit, and continued his words as follows:
"The purpose of the integration between land registry offices through mediation, which entered into force in November 2024, is to ease the burden on the judiciary and resolve disputes between heirs through rapid, peaceful and consensual means. This practice was put into effect not to deprive anyone of their legal rights, but rather to prevent long and exhausting litigation processes. The principle of equality of inheritance shares is valid in the Turkish Civil Code, it has not been changed and the Law has not been bypassed by the circular."
CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan explained the claims in the news titled "Natural gas fell by 32 percent in the world, increased by 117 percent in Türkiye."
AK Party Bolu Deputy Yüksel Coşkunyürek said that the support provided to citizens to prevent them from being affected by high energy costs globally continues, and that 56 percent of electricity bills in low range, 34 percent in high range and 44 percent of natural gas bills continue to be covered by the state.
Coşkunyürek shared the following information:
"We are the cheapest country in Europe per unit price for electricity in residences and the cheapest country after Ukraine for natural gas. While the share of 200 kilowatt electricity consumption in residences in the minimum wage was 20 percent in 2002, it is 2.3 percent today; while its share in the lowest pension was 15 percent in 2002, it is 3 percent today. While the share of 100 cubic meters of natural gas consumption in residences in the minimum wage was 25 percent in 2002, it is 5.7 percent today; while its share in the lowest pension was 19.5 percent, it is 7.5 percent today. We want our friends who are talking here about 'natural gas prices have been increased' to look at their own municipalities and mention here the increase their municipalities have made to water prices by up to 3 thousand percent."
In the votes held following the discussions, the group proposals of the CHP, DEM Party, İYİ Party and Yeni Yol Party regarding the agenda were not accepted.
Later, the General Assembly began discussing the bill that includes regulations regarding energy and mining areas.
