Support from THY and AJet to the 'Island Cyprus' project

THY and AJet signed a cooperation agreement within the scope of the TRNC's 'Island Cyprus' project, which includes providing support in diversifying accessible transportation alternatives, regional employment and promotion. The agreement signed by TRNC President Ersin Tatar, TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and THY and AJet Chairman of the Board Ahmet Bolat will ensure the promotion of TRNC in the international arena in tourism.
Speaking at the ceremony, THY Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat said, “We came together to sign our support for the Island Cyprus, a very valuable project that will shape the future of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, as the national flag carrier of Türkiye, and to become the main actor of the ‘Island Cyprus’ brand. We see this agreement not only as a promotional move, but also as a concrete indicator of the deep-rooted ties, friendship and belief in a common future between the two brotherly countries.”
THE CEILING FEE FOR AJET'S TWO FLIGHTS EVERY DAY WAS 6 THOUSANDExpressing that they are proud of the support THY and AJet gave to this project, Bolat continued his speech as follows;
“Our goal is to make the unique island culture, natural beauties, historical heritage and gastronomic riches of Northern Cyprus visible on a global scale and to carry the island to the position it deserves in tourism. Within the scope of the ‘Island Cyprus’ project, we will operate with an accessible price policy on two daily trips between Istanbul and TRNC with our AJet brand. With a one-way ceiling price tariff of 6 thousand TL on these two trips, we will not only facilitate transportation but also make TRNC a center of attraction for local and foreign tourists.”
FIRST FLIGHT WITH A PLANE WITH THE CYPRUS ISLAND LOGOFor the support agreement for the 'Island Cyprus' project, a large delegation including THY and AJet Chairman Ahmet Bolat, THY Deputy Chairman Şekip Avdagiç, AJet General Manager Kerem Sarp, business people from the Service Exporters' Association, influencers and THY and AJet senior management went from Istanbul to the TRNC on a plane bearing the project's logo.
THE PROJECT WILL BE INTRODUCED IN LONDONAhmet Bolat announced that they will launch the 'Island Cyprus' project in London on July 26 to attract tourists from England to the TRNC within the scope of the project. Bolat stated that they will plan a special tariff from London Stansted Airport to the Island with a transfer from Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

With the project that will both support the regional economy and provide young people with career opportunities in international aviation, 60 young TRNC citizens will join AJet as cabin crew. TRNC young people will be the face and voice of the Island in the sky. Two aircraft in the AJet fleet painted with the 'Island Cyprus' logo will carry the tourism brand of the Island to the sky and become a promotional platform.
