HOW IS A BLOOD MOON FORMED?
The second Blood Moon of the second total lunar eclipse of 2025 occurs when the Moon rises and enters Earth's shadow, losing its brightness and gradually reddening. During a lunar eclipse, the Earth intervenes between the Sun and the Moon, blocking the sun's rays. While the entire Moon will be covered, it will not be completely dark.

The next total lunar eclipse will occur on March 2-3, 2026. The eclipse will be visible from Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, South America, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Arctic, and Antarctica.
