Contract signed between BMC and SSB for ALTUĞ 8x8 armored combat vehicle

BMC, one of Turkey's leading military vehicle manufacturers, continues to increase the value it adds to Turkey's domestic and national production power in the defense industry with its investments in R&D and technology.
BMC, which has many different classes of military land vehicles in its product family such as main battle tanks, armored vehicles, military trucks and logistic support vehicles, continues to attract attention with the vehicles it has mass-produced in line with its domestic and national fully independent defense industry targets.
BMC, which will begin production of another important vehicle to meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, has signed a contract with the Presidency of Defense Industries. In this context, at the ceremony held at the Presidency of Defense Industries on February 24, 2025, with the participation of President of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün and BMC Chairman of the Board Fuat Tosyalı, an important contract was signed between BMC and the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) within the scope of the 35 mm Turret New Generation Vehicles Project.
In line with the agreement, 29 ALTUĞ 8x8 Armoured Combat Vehicles will be delivered to the Land Forces Command and services including Integrated Logistics Support activities of these vehicles will be provided.

Developed in accordance with the field experiences of the Turkish Armed Forces in recent years, ALTUĞ has become a vehicle with superior capabilities with its mission concept and advanced technology that provides great advantages in asymmetric warfare environments and is suitable for the most up-to-date user requirements. It has become a vehicle that supports the domestic and national defense industry target in line with the target shown by our President.”
ALTUĞ 8x8 series will be produced at BMC Production Facilities in Ankara
Fuat Tosyalı thanked all stakeholders within the scope of the project and said, “Within the scope of this meaningful project, I would like to thank our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün and everyone who contributed to this project. ALTUĞ 8x8 stands out with its superior maneuverability and versatile usage features.
ALTUĞ 8x8 , which started with concept design studies in 2018 and was developed based on the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces in the field, stands out with its high level of protection, superior maneuverability and versatile usage features . ALTUĞ 8x8, produced with domestic and national facilities , in addition to its success in the very difficult mobility, ballistic, mine and EYP tests it was subjected to in Turkey , also demonstrated its ability to operate under all conditions by demonstrating superior performance in the difficult terrain and climate tests conducted in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
BMC's previously produced KİRPİ and VURAN vehicles stood out as critical systems that disrupted the enemy's game in the field. ALTUĞ 8x8 will make a great contribution to the Turkish Armed Forces' ability to be a game-changing force in the field with its technological superiority and advanced combat capability. While deliveries are planned to begin in 2027 , ALTUĞ 8x8 is expected to be preferred by friendly and allied countries and provide a significant export input to Turkey .

ALTUĞ 8x8 Armored Combat Vehicle (35 mm Turret) was designed to meet all the needs of conventional and asymmetric battlefields in its class. The vehicles stand out with their superior features in every aspect by evaluating the latest user requirements, mission concepts, threats, technology and trends, as well as the capabilities of existing domestic and foreign vehicles in this market. While a high localization rate of up to 80% is targeted in ALTUĞ 8x8 series vehicles, domestic and national armor steel and axle equipment are used in all vehicles.
