Corendon Airlines Sponsors the 2nd Türkiye Textile Biennial

Corendon Airlines, which makes a difference with its support for culture, art and sports, continues to contribute to art and artists by sponsoring the 2nd Turkey Textile Biennial to be held in the historical and natural areas of Gazipaşa and Alanya between February 22 and April 13, 2025. The Textile Biennial will take place in historically and culturally important places such as Selinus and Lamos Ancient Cities, Yalan Dünya Cave, Kızıl Kule, Alanya Shipyard and Syedra Ancient City.
This year, the Textile Biennial of Turkey is preparing to explore the relationships between the traces left on the shores by the endless waves of the Mediterranean and the order of fabrics created by human labor under the title of "Wave Fabric". The rhythmic movements of the wave and the memory of the fabric knitted stitch by stitch represent the combination of the cyclical movements of nature and the creative power of man. The biennial examines the story of textile production intertwined with nature from an ecological perspective. The historical role of the Mediterranean's water resources in weaving and silk production is addressed together with today's environmental problems. While water plays a central role in every stage from the dyeing of the fabric to the processing of plant fibers, the biennial transforms this cycle into a field of awareness.
The Turkey Textile Biennial 2025 will be held under the sponsorship of Corendon Airlines, hosted by Gazipaşa District Governorship, in cooperation with Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, in partnership with Alanya Municipality, Gazipaşa Agriculture, Culture, Tourism, Education and Aid Association, Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation, Alanya Tourism Business Owners Association, Alanya University and the Chamber of Commerce. The curator of the Biennial will be Nihat Özdal.
The Biennial will bring together artists from all over the world and emphasize that textiles are more than just a material, but also a carrier of stories and memories. Weaving workshops, art performances, exhibitions and panels will ensure that the Biennial offers a multifaceted experience to the audience.
Many local and foreign artists will take part in the biennial, which will be curated by Nihat Özdal.
