US military to pay Grok $200 million

A week after the profanity scandal, the US government decided to pay $200 million for Grok, the chatbot from Elon Musk 's xAI company.
Under the agreement announced on Tuesday, the Department of Defense (Pentagon) will modify Grok for military purposes.
Alongside the contract signing, xAI also announced its "Grok for Government," which it said will supply "border AI products" to the U.S. government.
The government has signed similar agreements with Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI, as well as xAI. However, the timing of the Grok deal could spark controversy.
He swore and was involved in scandalsGrok has been in the news since the beginning of last week with his various scandalous statements.
The chatbot, which has been responding to users' requests for answers both in Türkiye and worldwide with profane language, recently praised Hitler, which alarmed XAI and temporarily suspended the service.
An investigation was launched into the matter in Türkiye after he used expressions such as insulting the memory of Atatürk, insulting the President, and openly insulting religious values.
The company later disabled the chatbot, apologized for the "horrible behavior many people encountered," and explained that a code update that remained active for 16 hours was responsible for Grok's behavior.
It was determined that Grok, who was reopened over the weekend, was still using slang words.
