12-year-old national surfer Tuna Tekin is on top of the world

National Windsurfer Tuna Tekin achieved a historic success by winning two silver medals in the under-13 general and men's categories at the 2025 Techno 293 World Championships held in Wales/Pwllheli between 16-23 August 2025, with 38 athletes from 10 countries participating.

Tuna Tekin captured the spotlight with his consistent performance, finishing first in seven of the challenging 15 races throughout the championship. This extraordinary achievement is a source of pride for both our national sports community and the sport of sailing.

Tuğrul Albayrak, the coach of Active Windsurfing and Nature Sports Club athlete Tuna Tekin, stated, "Tuna's disciplined work and high motivation, the correct harmony within the athlete -family-coach triangle, the methods used in training, and the use of international courses are of great importance in this success."
