Former Beşiktaş coach signs deal with Championship team

Valerien Ismael has been appointed as head coach of English Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

In a statement made by the club, it was announced that an agreement was reached with the French coach until June 2028.

The 49-year-old coach, who worked at Hannover, Wolfsburg, Nürnberg, LASK Linz, Barnsley, West Bromwich Albion and Watford in his career, coached Beşiktaş for 7 months in 2022.

Valerien Ismael will become the first French manager to serve at Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn Rovers are in 6th place in the league with 51 points, having won 15, drawn 6 and lost 13.
