Tuncay Meriç, President of the Alemdağ Sports Club , was attacked by an unidentified gunman while sitting at a cafe in Çekmeköy, Istanbul. Meriç was shot in the head and taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but later died . Police launched an operation to apprehend the suspect, who fled.

The incident took place at around 9:00 p.m. at a cafe on Tolgahan Street in the Güngören neighborhood. Tuncay Meriç, President of the Alemdağ Sports Club, was attacked by an unidentified assailant while sitting in the cafe.

As the attacker fled the scene, police and emergency medical teams arrived after witnesses alerted them. Upon examination by medical personnel, Tuncay Meriç, who was found to have been shot in the head and seriously injured, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Despite all efforts, Meriç lost his life. Police teams investigated the scene and launched an operation to apprehend the attacker, who had fled.
