Trump reproached: Putin disappointed me

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Alaska on August 15 and discussed how to end the Ukraine War.
While hopes for peace have increased following the meeting between the two leaders, a date has not yet been set for the expected meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin due to the fact that expectations of Ukraine and Russia do not fully align.
US President Donald Trump made a statement to US journalist Scott Jennings regarding the latest developments.
The US President, pointing to Russia's attacks on Ukraine, said, "I'm very disappointed in him (Putin). Thousands of people are dying. It's not Americans who are dying, it's Russians and Ukrainians who are dying. If I were president, this war would never have started."
The US President stated that he would do something to help people live, saying, "This is not a Ukraine issue. This is about helping people live. 7,000 people are dying a week, mostly soldiers."
In his speech in the Oval Office, Donald Trump made an assessment of the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin.
Trump stated that this meeting was not a challenge to the US, saying, "China needs us more than we need them." Donald Trump announced that they would move the US Space Force Command headquarters from Colorado to Alabama. Meanwhile, the US President announced in a statement regarding Venezuela that they had struck a boat carrying drugs.
Statement from Russia to the US
Moscow and Washington are planning a new round of consultations through their foreign ministries, Kremlin Foreign Policy Advisor Yuriy Ushakov said.
Ushakov, speaking to Russian broadcaster Perviy Kanal, reported new plans for contacts between Russia and the US. "A new round of consultations between the foreign ministries is currently being planned," Ushakov said.
Ushakov also stated that there are many unresolved issues between the two countries.
The first round of Russian-American consultations took place in Istanbul at the end of February, and the second round in April. In June, the US canceled its consultations with Russia on normalizing the work of embassies.
