Terrible incident in Artvin! The barn roof collapsed and 50 animals died

The incident took place in the barn where small cattle were raised, belonging to Hüsnü Gümüşkaya, in the Kopmuş area of Hopa district. The roof of the barn collapsed due to heavy snowfall during the night. As a result of the collapse, 50 of the approximately 300 small cattle were trapped under the debris and lost their lives.
Upon notification, Artvin AFAD teams and HOPAK volunteers were dispatched to the scene. The village road was opened with the help of a construction machine and made suitable for the teams to work. After 5 hours of difficult work, many sheep and lambs were rescued alive from under the rubble. The injured animals were treated by veterinarians.
