The forest fire in Bilecik has been brought under control.
A fire broke out in the forest between the villages of Deresakarı and Selbükü, for reasons yet unknown. Villagers who saw the rising smoke alerted the area, and the Bilecik Forest Management Directorate and firefighters were dispatched to the area. Helicopter support was provided to teams who attempted to extinguish the flames from the ground using water trucks. Bilecik Governor Faik Oktay Sözer also visited the area to inspect the firefighting efforts and obtain a live update.
FIRE UNDER CONTROL
The Governor's Office announced that the flames have been contained and cooling efforts have begun in the area. The Governor's Office statement read, "The forest fire's energy has largely been brought under control, and cooling efforts are ongoing. We thank all our teams for their efforts."
