Zendaya’s Met Gala After-Party Dress Was a Perfect Nod to the Night’s Theme

Zendaya capped off her standout Met Gala appearance with a dramatic outfit change for the after-party. Following her tailored white Louis Vuitton suit on the red carpet, the Challengers actress arrived at Richie Akiva’s Met Gala after-party at Casa Cipriani in a form-fitting, archival Patrick Kelly gown. The strapless dress featured a sequined floral motif in deep burgundy, and was paired with a voluminous shawl in a matching hue. She styled the look with red heels, a sleek bun, and a coordinating manicure.

The star’s choice to wear Patrick Kelly, who was the first American and Black designer admitted to the Chambre Syndicale du Prêt-à-Porter in Paris, doubled as a nod to the evening’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Her longtime creative director, Law Roach, styled her ensembles. He also accompanied her at the venue.
The morning after, Zendaya was photographed leaving her hotel in an entirely different look. The Euphoria star swapped sequins for streetwear, wearing a burgundy leather biker jacket by Acne Studios over a gray crewneck sweatshirt and relaxed black trousers. She finished the look with black Maison Margiela Tabi ballet flats and oversize Bottega Veneta sunglasses.

Zendaya returned to the Met steps solo this year, in a custom all-white Louis Vuitton ensemble. The sharply tailored look included a three-piece suit and wide-brimmed hat, offering a modern interpretation of dandyism that directly aligned with the night’s “Tailored for You” dress code. While her red carpet ensemble leaned more into minimalism, her after-party and street style looks reminded us why she’s one of fashion’s most versatile dressers.
