Homeowners praise interior dehumidifiers that battle mould without using electricity

As wetter weather rolls in, shoppers are looking to keep their homes warm, dry, and healthy this winter season. It’s no secret mould is a nightmare to deal with, and condensation can be a huge issue too, and some shoppers have turned to dehumidifiers.
Currently the ANSIO Dehumidifier 500ml, which has over 47,000 Amazon reviews, is £19.95 for a pack of 20, and it is discounted in packs of five (priced at £7.75 down from £9.47) and 10 (£10.95 from £12.95), with offers for other packs too.
The non-electric dehumidifiers work through layers of hydrophilic (water dissolving) crystals and a 500ml collection tank, allowing it to absorb three times its own weight in water, the brand says. Being 15cm across and 10.3cm high, its low profile lets buyers easily move the dehumidifier to wherever it is needed.

For buyers dealing with more damp than the ANSIO’s 500ml can take, the Unibond Aero 360° Moisture Absorber 0.924Ltr from Screwfix for £10.99 features 360 degree air circulation, refillable absorbers and a larger tank volume at 0.9 litres, meaning buyers still get the convenience of a cordless, portable dehumidifier with a larger tank volume.
Alternatively, a shopper with some serious or permanent damp issues could look at the Wessex Dehumidifier 12L from ToolStation. Priced at £99.98 online, and with 20% off currently, this is a more expensive option, but does feature three power modes, a 12-hour timer and laundry mode to help dry out clothes. The tank size is a whopping 2 litres, and can collect up to 12 litres a day.
The ANSIO Dehumidifier 500ml Pack of 20 is available from Amazon.

The ANSIO pack comes with 20 dehumidifiers to remove dampness and humidity from the air.
Shoppers that bought Amazon’s ANSIO Dehumidifier 500ml were impressed with how effective they were, and one review said: “Have been using these types of dehumidifiers for some years in various locations in my motorhome. Moisture removal is good and effective and when they are "life expired" the liquid can go down the drain and the rest in the bin.”
Another added: “Delivered fast and good quality product, does the job and helps with condensation issues and helps stop mould.”
A third said: “This is the second time I have purchased this product and found them very useful the amount of places you use them.”
Some buyers did have comments on the size, and one review said: "Good enough, smaller than other ones but still efficient."
Others found the dehumidifiers slow but effective, as one review added: "I bought these to help with the heavy condensation in my home, especially during the colder months. I’ve been using them for about two weeks now, and they do work, but quite slowly, it took a little while before I noticed any difference."
